Unit Overview

This unit provides foundational skills for learners to promote the maintenance of healthy functioning of the human body when working with clients. They will gain an understanding of how to use and interpret information that refers to human anatomy and physiology that can improve personal health, and the health of others.

This unit is designed for learners and staff who need to use and interpret anatomical and physiological information for the benefit of clients.

Learners will develop Dimensions of Competency and Foundation Skills within this unit through interesting, educational, and practical learning resources and assessments. The knowledge is highly applicable for both personal and work lives as learners encounter unique learning experiences within real or simulated workplace environments.

The eLearning modules and assessments will help learners gain skills and knowledge to be job-ready to:

  • Develop basic structure and functional information about the human body
  • Develop knowledge of processes, conditions, and resources required to support healthy functioning of the body
  • Recognise and promote ways to support healthy functioning of the body

Prerequisites and assessment

Skills must have been demonstrated in the workplace or in a simulated environment that reflects workplace conditions.
