Unit Overview

There are more than half a million work-related injuries or illnesses annually in Australia. This unit will provide learners with the required skills and knowledge in workplace health and safety (WHS) to contribute to a safer working environment. Interactive learning content, knowledge checks, assessments, and resources will contribute to providing job-ready learners with relevant industry knowledge to participate in safe work practices to ensure health and safety of themselves and others.

Integrating Dimensions of Competency, Foundation Skills, and Principles of Assessment, your learners will not only find this unit interesting, educational, and practical, but also highly applicable in their personal and work life as they encounter learning experiences within real or simulated workplace environments.

The eLearning modules and assessments will help learners gain skills and knowledge to be job-ready to:

  • Reflect on their own safe work practices
  • Follow, implement, and contribute to safe work practices in the workplace

Prerequisites and assessment

Skills must be demonstrated in the workplace OR in an environment that provides realistic in-depth industry validated scenarios and simulations to assess candidates’ skills and knowledge.
