Workplaces in the health or direct client care industries must ensure that policies and procedures are in place to prevent and control any possibility of infection and ensure the health of staff and customers. Learners will understand the importance of infection prevention in today’s world through this highly interactive unit.
This unit provides unique experiences for learners to develop skills and knowledge required to follow organisational infection prevention and control procedures, including implementing standard additional transmission-based precautions and responding to infection risks.
This unit applies to individuals working in health and direct client care contexts.
The eLearning modules and assessments will help learners gain skills and knowledge to be job-ready to:
- Follow precautions for prevention and control of infections
- Identify any infection hazards and assess risks
- Follow procedures to manage risks and hazards
Prerequisites and assessment
Skills must have been demonstrated in the workplace with the addition of simulations and scenarios where the full range of contexts and situations have not been provided in the workplace or may occur only rarely.
